I have always been fascinated with card games. I never collected them as a child because they were too expensive, however, I loved the whole concept and was jealous of my friends at school who use to be able to purchase packets every week with pocket money. I would be lucky to get a packet of Top Trumps.
It was only until I was in my thirties that I started designing my own, giving them stats and making some better than others. Very basic like Top Trumps, but 8bit style superheroes. Every night I’d be on my mac book whipping up another Superhero style top trump card, I would then send them off to print and wait for the delivery. I use to do so many different prototypes, which became expensive.
Sometime in August 2021, my wife went and done a client's nails at their home, she got talking to her other half who wanted to know what design work I was into. My wife told him I liked creating pixel characters and card games. He then explained to her about #nft or non-fungible tokens, her response was she didn’t have a clue but thought it would be right up street. It was, I could create my 8bit Battle Cards as NFT’s and then mint them on #opensea, it was the whole combination of creating digital art and a card game, whilst trying to make money. I also loved the whole idea of the rarity and one off editions of each NFT. Please feel free to look at my collection.
